Our first Family Night Magic Show with Donald the Magician was a fantastic experience! The sneak peek preview during school hours allowed us to really set the stage for the big show and was key to our fundraising and sales. Note – Most of my school shows are for schools with students grades K-7 (Elementary, Primary, or Intermediate), or for family audiences at school events.

School Show Rates

These rates are for shows in the Victoria area & Cowichan Valley area. No travel fee, because I’m based in Victoria.

Call for rates for shows in other locations. (For example, fees for shows in Nanaimo are +$100, and fees for shows on the Lower Mainland are +$400. There are ways to save on fees for Lower Mainland shows – ask for information about Block Booking pricing and On Tour pricing.)

I prefer to perform indoors. Outdoor shows only under certain conditions (call to discuss).

I’m self-contained, and bring my own tables, sound system, and backdrop (as necessary).

I can work on a stage, riser, or on the floor. I prefer to have all of the audience in front of me, and not on the extreme sides / not wrapped around me.

Different shows have different set up and pack down times (call to discuss).

“Fun Magic Show” (Bronze, Silver, or Gold Package)

The Bronze (30-Minutes), Silver (45-Minutes), or Gold (60-Minutes) Fun Magic Shows are my non-themed, family-friendly Magic Shows, that delivers lots of Laughter, Smiles, and Amazement! The shows are a blend of amazing magic tricks, fun balloon twisting, clean comedy, and audience participation, with no stage illusion. By special request, I offer mini shows for school fun fairs (3 x 15 minutes, 4 x 15 minutes, 5 x 15 minutes). My Fun Magic Shows are ideal for a variety of school events – assemblies, family nights, start-of-year / end-of-year celebrations, special events, fun fairs, picnics, etc. New shows (different magic tricks) are available for repeat customers. You can also add-on a special “Stage Illusion” or “Balloon Twisting,” or both – see below.

1) 30-minute BRONZE “Fun Magic Show”: One Show = $250.

2) 45-minute SILVER “Fun Magic Show”: One Show = $350.

3) 60-minute GOLD “Fun Magic Show”: One Show = $450.

By Special Request – Mini Shows for Fun Fairs:

Add-on – “Stage Illusion(s)” (Floating Child and / or Amazing Shoe)

To create a big WOW, you can add one or two special “Stage Illusions” to the Bronze, Silver, or Gold Fun Magic Show. A stage illusion is a larger-scale magic trick, usually involving a person. In this show, I perform my Floating Child Illusion (a child volunteer who I select from the audience), and / or my Amazing Shoe Illusion (funny trick with a borrowed shoe and magic wands that get bigger and bigger), which are special highlights of the show. IDEA – Adding both Stage Illusions to my 60-Minute Gold Magic Show creates a Deluxe-style Family Night Magic Show. I’ve also done Magic Shows with Add-on Stage Illusions for daytime assemblies.

4) Add One Illusion (“Plus”) = $100 Additional,
Add Two Illusions (“Plus Plus”) = $200 Additional.

GOLD PLUS “Fun Magic Show” (60-Minute Show with Floating Child) = $550.
GOLD PLUS PLUS “Fun Magic Show” (60-Minute Show with both Floating Child and Amazing Shoe) = $650.

Add-On – “Balloon Twisting” (Balloon Animal Souvenirs)

Yes, you can book Donald’s Balloon Twisting without booking a Magic Show, but some customers book it as an add-on to their Magic Show. Balloon Twisting is NOT a stand-up show, but souvenir-style entertainment for a few people at a time (typically, I end up a steady line-up of kids wanting balloons). I’ll create and give away colourful and customized balloon creations. In one hour, I can inflate and twist about 100 souvenir balloons. These can be 100 single-balloon-creations for larger groups, or fewer but fancier multiple-balloon-creations for smaller groups. All of the balloons create a festive atmosphere. I currently inflate my balloons with a pump, not by mouth. Note – I only offer Balloons by the hour, so part of an hour (example – 30 minutes) is still the fee for a full hour.

5) BALLOON TWISTING – One hour = $200. / Two hours = $400.

“Spooky Goofy Magic Show” or “Happy Holiday Magic Show” (Themed Shows)

I offer my non-themed “Fun Magic Shows” 12 months a year. However, if you’re looking for a themed show to fit with your party or event, I also offer my “Spooky Goofy Magic Show” (Halloween themed fun) in October, and my “Happy Holiday Magic Show” (Christmas themed fun) in November and December. Same options as my fun shows – Bronze (30-Minutes), Silver (45-Minutes), or Gold (60-Minutes). No extra cost to have one of these themed shows instead of a non-themed fun show.

“Magic of Reading Show” (Themed Show)

The 45-minute Magic of Reading Show is a fun & educational literacy-themed magic show for grades K-6. The content of the message is really aimed at grades K-3, but the older students enjoy the show just as much as I positively reinforce information they should already know. My goals with this show are to encourage reading, to help students become eager about using the library, and to promote creative writing and other positive after-show classroom experiences. I talk about writing short stories, the difference between fiction and non-fiction, using the library, etc. I endorse literacy in a fun and memorable way by blending storytelling, audience participation, message, comedy, magic, colour, and fun. Librarians tell me about a boost in library use, increased reading, etc. This show is designed to help motivate your students to read more.

12) 45-minute “Magic of Reading Show”: One Show = $500.

“Magic of Learning Show” (Themed Show)

The 45-minute Magic of Learning Show can help reinforce the fun of learning to your grade K-6 students. The content of the message is really aimed at grades 3-6, but the younger students will enjoy the show just as much and will likely understand most of the ideas being shared. This fun & educational learning-themed magic show uses magical object lessons to illustrate an easy-to-remember learning formula, consisting of 5 “P-Attitudes”: “Participation” (learning requires working together), “Patience” (learning requires time), “Perspiration” (learning requires hard work), “Pay Attention” (learning requires listening skills), and “Persistence” (if at first you don’t succeed – try, try again!) This show is designed to help motivate your students to be more enthusiastic towards the learning process.

13) 45-minute “Magic of Learning Show”: One Show = $500.
